Clannad
Synopsis
Tomoya Okazaki is a third year high school student resentful of his life. His mother passed away from a car accident when he was younger, causing his father to resort to alcohol and gambling. This results in fights between the two until Tomoya's shoulder is injured in a fight. Since then, Tomoya has had distant relationships with his father, causing him to become a delinquent over time. While on a walk to school, he meets a strange girl named Nagisa Furukawa who is a year older, but is repeating due to illness. Due to this, she is often alone as most of her friends have moved on. The two begin hanging out and slowly, as time goes by, Tomoya finds his life shifting in a new direction.

Clannad can be described as "Perfect" Yes the artworks is good, Yes the soundtrack is nice too. But for me it's Clannads ability to get you emotional and some times cry as I did. The story evolves around Tomoya & Nagisa but along the way they meet others who also add their strands to be woven into the story of Clannad. Character development is possibly Clannad's shining point for me! not once did I feel a character was unnecessary or too shallow. Kanon 2006These two animes are made by the same company and that would be Key, so of course you would find the artwork exactly alike. Clannad is mysterious because of its "other world" and Kanon is about the mysteries involved in his memories. You'll find most of the heroines in Kanon having a personality like Kotomi and Fuko or the other way around. In any case, both animes are AMAZING and as a dedicated anime fan i reccomend anyone who finds one of these animes interesting to watch the other one :). -
Toradora!Both animes have a pretty dimwitted protagonist with a series of heroines in the plot and have a supporting character. While Clannad isn't as confusing as Toradora, the main character is still stuck between more then 2 heroines and in both animes the "unpicked" heroines are always so understanding :)
