God distributed happiness and misfortune onto each human equally. However, there is only one person in the world, who has only misfortune bestowed upon him, and that boy is the high school student
Takeshi, cursed with bad luck ever since he was a child.
Luckily a beautiful angel - named
Elle - is dispatched by God to make up for
Takeshi's plight in life and to protect him from further misfortune. At first,
Takeshi is rather annoyed by Elle's presence, but after she saves his life,
Takeshi accepts the angel's presence.
Elle then uses her angelic powers to become human and forthwith lives with
Takeshi along with his Aunt,
Sanae, and mangaka perverted cousin,
Motoko under the same roof.
It started good, got even better in episode 2 but crashed and burned in the final episode. After seeing the last episode, it made me wonder about the existence of Happy World, is it ment to be a pilot OVA for soon to come series or really just a failed stand alone anime.
The animation, while being above average, at some points seemed weird, namely the movements of the characters.
The characters look all cute, although the leading female character had too big of a forehead for my liking but still she makes up for it by being butt-naked almost 50% of the time in all 3 episodes. The overall scenery is bright and clean, perfect for children to watch, although it contains nudity.
The opening, ending and the BG all have that
duun duu bi duu wa shuu bi duu bi dan dan type of music...literally.
(
OP: Kami-sama no Okurimono: Naked Angel and
ED: Shiawase Hiyori) Not that I'm complaining, I couldn't imagine this anime to have some other type of lyrics and music. The voice actors have done a great job, especially the seiyuu for the leading main character, it seems he was really into his role.
The story...let's see now, this OVA has death, violence(including beating of women), nudity, even direct incest intentions yet it still has a story that fits perfectly into 2 or 3 episodes. They really messed it up with the 3rd episode though, it could have been used
as a character development episode since the first episodes were all about character introduction yet they still added even more new figures in the last episode...why?? The anime ends at this point, there is no more episodes...the conclusion - Happy World ends after going nowhere, talk about a first class abruptness.
It's mainly a comedy anime and it managed to make me laugh quite easily, still I can't say it's utterly hilarious.
The genre romance however is completely missing, you can even see more romance in some hentai animes containing only tentacles.Yet romance is something that should have been implemented right after the 1st episode since the story is just begging for it.
Happy World is not something that you should really see, if you do decide to have a look then watch it, laugh a little and maybe watch and laugh again, depends on how long you consider the same jokes to be funny.
Note: If you wanted to know what happen next just read the manga its completed.
