The youngest of L's 2 successors, Near is level-headed individual who displays a series of odd behaviors very similar to L. He was raised in Watari’s Wammy House, an orphanage in Winchester for gifted children. He shows great respect for L and follows in his footsteps carefully; often using L’s methods to solve a crime and taking on only the cases that interest him.
